Current DSLR pop-up flashes provide enough light for close-up photography, but often fail to illuminate subjects at longer range. When shooting subjects at a distance with telephoto zoom lenses, the extra light provided by the Rogue Safari can make the difference between an underexposed blurry image, and a sharp image with good color.

Because the Safari's lens focuses light from your pop-up flash it will create a spot of light when used with lens focal lengths shorter than 100mm.  For even illumination in the image we therefore recommend using the Rogue Safari with telephoto zoom lenses 100mm and longer.

Rogue Safari is designed for use with entry-level and mid-level Canon APS-C and Nikon DX (crop sensor) DSLR cameras. Its optically engineered lens focuses light providing up to 8x more light (3 f/stops) at 30'.
